Our committee

Promoting the compatibility of family and career – that is our ultimate goal

As a non-profit organization, profawo operates the kids & co daycare centres under its own label and organizes the care of relatives bundled in the care & co offer. The "co" in profawo's service brands symbolizes the proximity to our member companies, i.e. employers, which makes our services unique in Switzerland. profawo has six local offices in Basel, Berne, Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich and Ticino. The organization is financed through the sale of services related to the topic of work-life balance, but also through its member companies, which strive to provide the best support in family management for their employees. Employees of member companies receive numerous discounts and benefit from free services.

The profawo association is managed by an honorary committee. This is made up of personalities with expertise in a specialist area, representatives of member companies or have excellent networking in politics, which is becoming increasingly important for the topic of childcare.

Committee members of the profawo association:

  • Andreas Sturm, President, phorbis Communication AG Basel
  • Christian Bandy, SBB AG, Deputy President, SBB AG
  • Simon Dobler, Planted Food AG
  • Anita Herren-Brauen, Councillor of the Canton of Bern
  • Nicole Oberholzer, Middle School and Vocational Education Department of the Canton of Zurich
  • Susanne Sacco, Credit Suisse AG
  • Karin Schmidt, Raiffeisen Switzerland Cooperative

Our vision

Family and career

Family and career

As a non-profit organization, we are committed to reconciling family and career throughout Switzerland, from childcare to caring for relatives. At a private sector level, we make a contribution to society by combining the interests of working people and the economy. Despite our nationwide focus, we are anchored locally and can therefore meet the current needs of our customers and association members in a differentiated manner and to a high degree.

Our mission statement

Employers

Our association is supported financially and ideally by its members, the employers. As a competent point of contact, we support our members in their commitment to reconciling family and career, from childcare to caring for relatives. The funds made available to us are used carefully and economically in the interests of the member companies. To this end, we are constantly dealing with the changing requirements of the world of work.

Family

The well-being of the family is a top priority in our work. Our services are primarily geared towards the needs of the family and meet a high standard of quality. Professionalism forms the basis of our work. We consider the psychological, social and economic aspects of this task to be equally important.

Employees

profawo sees itself as a role model and enables employees to combine family and career, from childcare to caring for relatives. Teamwork, personal responsibility and decision-making powers are just as much a part of our employees' working environment as interesting tasks and personal development opportunities. Fair, attractive employment conditions and a climate of trust and tolerance form the basis for cooperation.

Business partners

We maintain a constructive and trusting working relationship with our business partners.

Our values

We ensure our professionalism by seeing ourselves as a learning organization, orienting ourselves towards scientific findings and focusing on high-quality early childhood education, care and upbringing. Trust is the basis of any collaboration. And finally, we pursue sustainability both in our support for children and families and in the careful and mindful use of all our resources. These four values form the basis of our daily work. The health of the children, as well as that of our employees, deserves our full attention.
